This link takes you to the social security website.  You can start drawing social security at 62; however, it will be about 30% less than if you waiting until you fully retired.  See our fully retired link to know what age that is for you.

This link takes you to the social security website and allows you to enter minimal information to get an estimation of your social security benefits.  This is somewhat accurate, but not down to the dollar amount you would draw.

If you lost your 1099-SA, you will need it for tax purposes.  Social security is not taxed on its own, but when you make over the earning limits then it becomes taxable depending on age.

If you were born earlier than 1960, then you will need your full retirement age.  Your full retirement age determines how much you can make without social security being taxed and shows you when you can make the maximum amount of social security.  If you were born in 1960 or later then your full retirement age is 67.
